It all started with the usual phrase Hélder, my head to India (and Intercooperação Desenvolvimento www.inde.pt ) "Daniela, serious problem viajares um na Próxima fourth ?...". Certainly not chef, you know that I Bissau is close and I love the village life ... This time it was to prepare and follow up the visit of the supervisor of the European Commission to the project for 3 years now the region is pursuing INDE of Quinara, South Guinea. The project in question ("RGB Hortipesca") goes for courses in adult literacy, savings and credit, VHF radio to allow communication between the villages, fishing cooperatives and community gardens in an attempt to improve the living conditions of the local population. It's been a while since I showed you the opportunity to make a visit on the ground and once again I and local partners in India (NGOs guineensi AMIN DIVUTEC and) we did not miss all the adventures and incidents corollary of well known by those who work outside the capital Bissau furati tires in the forest, endless Travel along precarious dirt roads, including heavy taxes and minor accidents and jolts (the war report this time contemplates the death of a chicken and a katcur of Mangue, a kind of skunk giant guilty of having crossed the street at the wrong time ), small communities of ethnic beafada isolated from the rest of the world, but with a great capacity for warmth and a surprising internal dynamism. The clock pointed to 5.30 and a certain amount of stubbornness allowed us to reach Darsalam, remote desert locations in the middle of the format. Squirrels, gazelles, monkeys, lizards green ...: never seen so many animals so close! Above all, however, affects the spirit of sacrifice of those who work at the forefront because the project works, guineensi poorly paid, often volunteers, who in the heat of the rainy weather, or under the blazing sun got on the bike and moving in tabanche more isolated, accompanying, advising, controlling, helping ... Cooperation with scant resources, when compared with major international organizations that now proliferate in Guinea and empire, but made with heart, by Africans for Africans. I realize once more: for those who love Africa and its people, the job is really a privilege.
