One of the most beautiful and important meetings that have segnato questi ultimi mesi, non solo umanamente ma anche “professionalmente”, è stato senz’altro quello con i monitori di Kuyo, un bairro di Bissau che definire periferico sarebbe un eufemismo. Là dove i mezzi di trasporto giungono al capolinea e la città lascia spazio al mato , si continua a piedi su una strada di terra battuta fino ad avvistare il tetto della scuola creata dall’associazione Sol Mansi (in criolo, “il sole sorge” www.solmansi.org ). Il presidente, Intunda, è un caro amico, come me in bilico tra Italia e Guinea: quando lo scorso ottobre mi ha proposto di organizzare un corso di formazione per i professori della scuola, I have accepted more than willing to ... especially since I was temporarily unemployed! The biggest challenge, in my opinion, the collection has, however, who has strongly supported this project in a country where the official teaching ignores the mother tongue and takes place only in Portuguese, literacy made in Kuyo - which begins in Criola then move on to the Portuguese - is a small island of modernity and methodological innovation! Who carries out every day this precious and difficult task, deal with the specificities of bilingual education, are the 9 monitors the school, all young, all volunteers, university students, primary school teachers recruited from the unemployed ... Sol Mansi Onlus to realize that until recently there was only a dream. Working with them, I say this without rhetoric, has been a truly enriching! Every afternoon, dusty and too passionate after a long walk under the blazing sun, I was surprised by their desire to learn, with their many questions (.. thing that professors Bubaque I had just used to it!), With their imagination and creativity, with their fluency. In a country where the teaching profession is often identified with the possibility of having a fixed salary (... so to speak!) And in which - consequently - few bother to be good educators, passion and spirit of sacrifice with which these young people complete their service have been true for me boccata d’aria! Certo, la preparazione didattica, l’esperienza e le conoscenze pedagogiche lasciano un po’ a desiderare … ma l’impegno e la buona volontà possono fare miracoli! Senza contare che quello di Sol Mansi è un cammino appena cominciato. Per questo – anche se le mie giornate africane sono già fin troppo frenetiche e dense di impegni – ho deciso di mettermi a disposizione per l’aggiornamento dei monitori, sicura che la formazione che potrò impartire verrà ampiamente ricompensata in una dimensione di reciproco scambio.
